Carmen Ng

Attorney

With over 20 years of experience, Carmen offers extensive experience in preparation and prosecution of patent applications involving medical imaging, visualization, database management, artificial intelligence, computational mathematics, advanced memory products, signal processing, telecommunications, and other diverse technologies.

At Horizon IP, Carmen founded the office in California to accommodate the growing business needs of our US clients.  She has developed strong expertise in patent prosecution, patent invalidity and non-infringement analyses, patent search methodologies, and trademark registrations. Carmen also provided litigation support in licensing negotiations between Fortune 500 companies, counselled clients on IP portfolio management and licensing, and managed international filings of patent applications in various jurisdictions.

 

During her postgraduate research career, Carmen authored various technical publications and was awarded the Sony Book Prize and NTU Postgraduate Research Scholarship for academic excellence. Carmen served as a primary examiner on the patent agents qualifying examination committee of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
